This year I have decided to re-embrace my love for traditions. While the boys have been small and life has been super busy, I have struggled with being the holiday hero in this house. My husband never really grew up with lots of dress ups and party favours so if I want to show the boys how fun holiday traditions can be, well, I need to lead the way. With them being a little older and seasons making sense, I've decided to throw a Halloween party. Yep of course my brain is racing and I have Martha Stewart visions keeping me awake at night - you'll see where I'm headed over on my Pinterest board - but I need to take it slow and simple so as to enjoy the moment rather than get consumed by it (sound familiar?)
So this year, it's all about pumpkin carving. I have never done it and always wanted to. Just like gingerbread house making at Christmas, this is destined to be a really fun, family event. A few of our trusted pals, big and small, are coming over and we're going to get busy...and messy. Jack O Lanterns, here we come!
