Just before we moved house, we were having a rather ordinary day at home. Lunch had been picked at and I was a little devoid of outing inspiration. As if by magic, there was a knock on the the door, and no it wasn't a cat in a hat,but rather a postman with a parcel. A rather large one in fact, addressed to The Brothers Trimm. But it's October, I said, it's not Christmas or birthday time here? Aha. I then remembered. The lovely people who look after Australian toy brand Colorific, asked if we would like to test drive some of their products. Hardly one to ever say no, I gratefully accepted and kept it as a surprise for the boys. Our delivery that afternoon led us to a whole load of fun and we tested out three great toys - the Giggles Waddling Duck, Tool Box and Pounding Bench.
Targeting the 18 month to 3 year age group, the selection was certainly of greater interest to our 2 year old. The Pounding Bench got a pretty good workout with the tool box certainly appealing to their inner -builder. I liked the simplicity in colour and design and of course the fact that everything was wooden. What they boys played with most however was the waddling duck game. A simple cause and effect toy where mother duck and duckling waddle down a slope while the boys watched and squealed. They really did get a lot of enjoyment out of taking turns to place the ducks on the 'slide' and I'm quite sure repeated the action at least 15 times before they lost interest. It's a nice reminder that sometimes it can be the simplest of things that can provide so much enjoyment.
A very big thank you to Verity and Colorific for treating us to test drive such lovely products.
